Beautiful.

Barbara, I think I have heard of wabi-sabi but this is not something off the top of my head, so thanks for mentioning it. The first time I saw a striking decay was some 10 years ago when I was at a small exhibition with photographic series of rotting tropical flowers. That was disturbing and beautiful at the same time.

Beautiful, striking image! Are you familiar with the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi (beautiful decay)? The dried leaves and how they curl back onto themselves are a terrific interpretation of the theme. The background is dreamy in its rich colour and fuzziness and wonderfully sets off the crisp details of the leaves and stem. I viewed this on a dark background and loved it even more. High marks!!
