Superb portrait!

Maybe depressed or distressed but I don't see deranged, necessarily. Not to worry, no one gets less than a four from me for relevance.

The contrast, tone, and clarity of the image is awesome. Framing is a wee bit tight but I guess that adds to the tension.

I belive I have seen this gentleman before. This is a perfect portrait imo, and fits the theme perfectly. 5x5

I can feel his pain--it might be physical or it might be emotional, but your image captures it well. Wonderful tones and pose. I think going for the slightly off-centered comp works (although the clipped cuff on the left disturbs me a tiny bit) and wonder what an even more off-center comp would look like had it been framed a tad looser. High marks. :)

Lovely subdued take on the theme top marks

I see more someone completely lost or sad than someone deranged. Not completely relevant to the theme IMO.
But very nice and strong picture.

He just seems sad to me. Wonderful portrait.

Familiarity with this subject would indicate that he is indeed not deranged. But I do think you captured a wonderful moment that could certainly be seen that way. For me, the composition is a bit bottom heavy and too tight on the left at the cuff button and the top above the finger tips. Wonderful image overall and great b&w tones as usual!! BRAVO!

Not deranged, depressed, but an extremely nice portrait otherwise. Light, tones, mood. High marks.
